Available Positions

Brainy Education Centre’s Enrichment Class Instructor position involves being responsible for teaching and enriching small classes of students with a mind toward developing students’ abilities to meet and exceed formal educational curricula and requirements.

A qualified candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in either teaching or tutoring; graduate degree or teacher’s college diploma preferred
  • Expertise in the subject(s)
  • Familiarity with the current Ontario Curriculum and/or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) curriculum requirements
  • Currently pursuing or completed Teacher’s College degree and OCT membership or OCT pending membership will be considered an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and reliable
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Punctual

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching enrichment classes of 6 to 8 students
  • Creating lesson plans to meet clearly outlined learning goals
  • Preparing coursework materials, homework assignments, and handouts
  • Evaluating students’ class work and assignments (i.e. grading tests and other assignments)
  • Providing students and parents with professional feedback
  • Updating attendance and lesson notes
  • Providing private tutoring for students if needed
  • A candidate will help students master both the content and the test-taking strategies associated with the subject and education level
